Excess

The excess for building and contents claims is $10,000. Applications to the Financial Assistance Fund can mitigate the costs of the excess.



The excess in the event of a natural disaster is 2.5% of site value for Auckland/Northland sites.



The excess for domestic buildings is $1,000.

Assessors

It is important to notify us if you believe the costs of the claim may exceed $10,000 as the insurer may wish to appoint an assessor/claims adjuster.

After Hours

For after hours claims support, please ring (09) 486 9756.



If a temporary fix is required to maintain the security of the site, or to prevent further damage from wind and rain, you do not need to await an assessor to "secure the site".

Financial Assistance Fund

The Fund continues to operate a “Financial Assistance Pool” and will endeavor to reduce the impact of the excess level to $1,000 by providing financial support to claimants.

 

Whilst we hope to be able to assist all claimants in this manner, you should note that this financial assistance is not a contractual obligation and is dependent on the number of claims received by the Fund and is at the discretion of the Fund.
